Photo: Shri Gayathirie Rajen.<\/p>\n<p>A woman has died and an infant has been hospitalised following a crash in the Riverina on Tuesday (2 December).<\/p>\n<p>Just after 9:30 am emergency services were called to the Hume Highway, Gundagai, following reports of a crash.<\/p>\n<p>Officers attached to Riverina Police District attended and found a white SUV had veered off the road and crashed into a tree.<\/p>\n<p>The driver \u2013 a woman believed to be aged in her 30s \u2013 was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however she died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>An infant, who was the sole passenger of the SUV, was also treated by paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n<p>Police have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.<\/p>\n<p>A report will be prepared for the coroner.<\/p>\n<p>Original Article published by Oliver Jacques on <a href=\"https:\/\/regionriverina.com.au\/woman-dies-infant-hospitalised-after-car-crashes-into-tree-near-gundagai\/113389\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Region Riverina<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The accident occurred near Gundagai on the Hume Highway.
