FAIRBANKS \u2013 The Alaska Nanooks women’s basketball team plays its first two GNAC games of the season this week on the road at Western Oregon and Saint Martin’s.<\/p>\n

She is connecting on 3.3 threes per game, ranking eighth in Division II. The ‘Nooks played\u00a0two games in Minnesota last weekend, falling to Minnesota State Moorhead 112-63 and St. Cloud State 101-53. Tamai Mancuso<\/a> led the team with an average of 17 points per game during the two contests. She shot 13-43 from the field and 7-25 from three, while grabbing three total rebounds and dishing three assists.<\/p>\n
\n\tAshlyn Waggoner<\/a> is the team’s leading rebounder, grabbing 4.8 boards per game. She has also blocked two shots this season.
\n\tAlycia Shelley<\/a> leads the team with 17 assists in 2025-26.
\n\tGenevieve Velasquez’s<\/a> two steals per game are the most for the Nanooks and rank 11th in the GNAC.
\n\tThe Nanooks have gotten the most points in the GNAC from their bench this season, averaging 33.5 per game. That puts them 14th in the nation.
\n\tAlaska is sinking 8.8 threes per game, which is third in the GNAC and 24th in DII.<\/p>\n
Western Oregon Wolves (3-3, 0-0 GNAC)

\n\tSenior guard Enid Vaifanua leads them with 17.2 points per game, the sixth-most in the GNAC. Her 55.4% field goal percentage ranks second in the conference.
\n\tThe Wolves have the highest three-point percentage in the conference at 36.7% and have committed the fewest turnovers per game among GNAC teams with 9.8 per game.<\/p>\n
Head Coach: Natalie Marlowe (3rd Season)<\/p>\n
\n\tThey are led by senior guard Kiana Rios, who is averaging a team-high 13.9 points per game. That puts her 11th in the GNAC.
\n\tThe Saints are allowing the fewest points per game among all GNAC teams at 52.9. That mark ranks 17th in Division II.<\/p>\n
The ‘Nooks are off next week and return to action on Thursday, Dec. 18, at Azusa Pacific. They play two days later at Biola, which will be their final game of 2025.<\/p>\n
