{"id":326213,"date":"2025-12-04T02:06:26","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T02:06:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/326213\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T02:06:26","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T02:06:26","slug":"bbc-announces-miniseries-about-the-beatles-hamburg-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/326213\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC Announces Miniseries About the Beatles&#8217; &#8216;Hamburg Days&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Six-part series will feature fictionalized version of Fab Four&#8217;s years in West Germany, based on Klaus Voormann&#8217;s autobiography<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAs if <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/beatles-biopics-sam-mendes-1234979923\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">four Beatles movies<\/a> weren\u2019t enough, a new miniseries will focus on the fledgling Fab Four\u2019s years in West Germany.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/bbc\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bbc\" data-tag=\"bbc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BBC<\/a> announced Tuesday that they have green-lit Hamburg Days, a six-part miniseries about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/beatles\/\" id=\"auto-tag_beatles\" data-tag=\"beatles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Beatles<\/a>\u2019 time in Germany, based in part on an autobiography written by Beatles associate Klaus Voormann.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cIn the smoke-filled clubs of Hamburg\u2019s St. Pauli\u2019s red-light district, an inexperienced young rock \u2018n\u2019 roll band from Liverpool collide with two young artists, Klaus Voormann and Astrid Kirchherr,\u201d the show\u2019s synopsis said (<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/global\/beatles-biopic-series-hamburg-days-bbc-1236598324\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">via Variety<\/a>). \u201cTogether, they help spark a transformation that turns a scrappy group of teenagers into the greatest music phenomenon the world has ever known: The Beatles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWhile casting has not yet been announced, the series has already procured a showrunner (The Crown director Christian Schwochow) and a director (Mat Whitecross, who previously helmed documentaries about Oasis and Coldplay).
