A driver is lucky to be alive after her car was left crumpled due to a collision with a truck, which has shut down a train line and caused traffic<\/a> on a major freeway to come to a standstill.<\/p>\n

Kwinana<\/a> Freeway was closed between Armadale Road to Beeliar Drive southbound around 2pm after a truck and car collided near the Cockburn train station.<\/p>\n

The crash left the car almost unrecognisable with parts of the vehicle strewn across the freeway and train line. Truck wheels had been ripped off and were lying on the road.<\/p>\n

Emergency services rushed to the scene including police, firefighters and a St John ambulance crew.<\/p>\n

A St John ambulance took the driver of the car \u2014 a female in her 60s \u2014 to Royal Perth Hospital.<\/p>\n

Despite the major collision, she was alert at the crash scene and remains in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

The crash has caused the Mandurah line to be cancelled between Elizabeth Quay and Aubin Grove with replacement buses now running.<\/p>\n

This is also causing delays on the Yanchep Line.<\/p>\n

The freeway was reopened just before 3pm but is still reduced to a single lane.<\/p>\n
