{"id":327049,"date":"2025-12-04T11:30:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T11:30:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/327049\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T11:30:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T11:30:07","slug":"former-motogp-star-has-seen-the-fatigue-on-everyones-face-in-longer-seasons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/327049\/","title":{"rendered":"Former MotoGP star \u201chas seen the fatigue on everyone\u2019s face\u201d in longer seasons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former MotoGP star Andrea Dovizioso says he has \u201cseen the fatigue on everyone\u2019s faces\u201d as the championship\u2019s calendars become longer and more condensed.<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a> season was the longest ever, with 22 rounds staged between February and November.<\/p>\n<p>The second half of the season was particularly brutal, with two rounds held every three weekends up to the Valencia finale.<\/p>\n<p>Compounding this has been the addition of sprints to the weekend format, with the number of races held in 2025 totalling 44.<\/p>\n<p>The first year of the sprint format in 2023 didn\u2019t see a single event with the full-time grid present, as injuries took their toll.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, there were only two rounds where the full grid raced.<\/p>\n<p>World Superbike-bound <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/911996\/miguel-oliveira\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miguel Oliveira<\/a> believes the intense weekend format, where riders are on the limit from FP1 before essentially facing a pre-qualifying on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the first lap in FP1, it\u2019s a fast lap,\u201d Oliveira said during the Portuguese Grand Prix weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not testing anything, we\u2019re just doing fast laps straight away.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe intensity is very high, and it\u2019s difficult for us to make decisions.
