{"id":327209,"date":"2025-12-04T13:18:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T13:18:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/327209\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T13:18:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T13:18:07","slug":"motogp-announces-major-leadership-change-ahead-of-2026-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/327209\/","title":{"rendered":"MotoGP announces major leadership change ahead of 2026 season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MotoGP has announced a major leadership change ahead of the 2026 season, as Dan Rossomondo leaves his role as Chief Commercial Officer.<\/p>\n<p>The American was a headline signing by Dorna and MotoGP back in 2023 as its CCO, in a bid to help grow the championship in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Rossomondo had previously held a chief role within the National Basketball Association.<\/p>\n<p>However, after just under three years in his role, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a> has announced on Thursday 4 December that he will leave the organisation.<\/p>\n<p>This move comes as a surprise following MotoGP\u2019s recent takeover by American company and Formula 1 owner Liberty Media.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Rossomondo says he will be returning to the US to spend more time with his family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to thank Carmelo [Ezpeleta] and the team for all their support over the last three years,\u201d Rossomondo said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI loved learning about this amazing sport and have become a genuine fan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoing forward, I will be cheering for its continued success from the U.S. as I return home to spend more time with my family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carmelo Ezpeleta, Dorna CEO, added: \u201cDan has been an important part of MotoGP\u2019s commercial evolution and a trusted member of our leadership team.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful for his dedication and the positive impact he has made on the sport.
