Meanwhile, a Victorian powerhouse is reportedly leading the chase for out-of-favour Gold Coast forward Malcolm Rosas Jnr. <\/p>\n

VIC RIVAL EMERGES AS SECOND SILVAGNI SUITOR<\/p>\n

The Western Bulldogs have reportedly joined the race for Jack Silvagni\u2019s services this off-season, reports The Age<\/a>. <\/p>\n

While Collingwood has been the club strongly linked in recent days to a move for the unrestricted free agent, the Dogs are understood to have arisen as a competitor for the Carlton father-son\u2019s signature. <\/p>\n

The Bulldogs boast the league\u2019s best offence \u2014 number one in the AFL for points for, inside-50 differential and time in forward half \u2014 but a lacklustre defensive operation remains their biggest weakness amid a teetering run to September. <\/p>\n

Luke Beveridge\u2019s side sits ninth for points against, ninth for allowing opposition shots at goal, and ninth for opposition chain-to-score rate, with swingman Rory Lobb and three-gamer Jedd Busslinger set to go into Thursday night\u2019s season-defining clash with GWS as the club\u2019s key-defensive pillars. <\/p>\n

The Age\u2019s report states Silvagni \u2018appeals to the Bulldogs because of his versatility\u2019, with the 27-year-old impressing this year as an intercept defender \u2014 before a groin injury stunted his progress \u2014 after spending the majority of his career-to-date as a forward. <\/p>\n

Nine\u2019s Tom Morris also reported<\/a> on Wednesday night the Dogs are \u2018weighing up a play\u2019 for Silvagni but noted Collingwood is \u2018further progressed in its chase\u2019, with coach Craig McRae on Wednesday confirming he\u2019d met with the injured Blue<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Reports have indicated that Collingwood\u2019s four-year contract offer to Silvagni, roughly $650,000 per season, is around about the same as the Blues offered the 128-gamer to stay at Princes Park \u2014 where his father and grandfather famously built the family name. <\/p>\n

TIGERS LEADING RACE FOR OVERLOOKED SUN<\/p>\n

Richmond is reportedly at the front of the queue for out-of-favour Gold Coast livewire Malcolm Rosas Jnr. <\/p>\n

The 24-year-old, who was told at the end of last season he was free to explore his options elsewhere amid tough competition for spots in Damien Hardwick\u2019s side, is out of contract this year and wouldn\u2019t cost much at the trade table. <\/p>\n

The Tigers, seemingly in the market for more young talent to aid their rebuild under second-year senior coach Adem Yze, are leading \u2018a growing number of clubs interested\u2019 in Rosas\u2019 services, reports AFL Media\u2019s Michael Whiting<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Smaller forwards Seth Campbell, Rhyan Mansell, Maurice Rioli Jnr and Steely Green all played last Sunday in Richmond\u2019s loss to Collingwood, with draftee Jasper Alger also in the mix as the substitute. <\/p>\n

After just seven senior outings and 12 goals last season, Rosas has played at AFL level only three times this year for one major as the Suns trend towards their maiden finals berth in Hardwick\u2019s second campaign at the helm. <\/p>\n

The 48-gamer has played 13 VFL matches for the Suns this season, averaging 18.0 disposals per game and booting 11 goals. <\/p>\n
