{"id":328082,"date":"2025-12-04T22:07:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T22:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/328082\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T22:07:09","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T22:07:09","slug":"social-security-payment-indexation-to-increase-payments-from-january-1-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/328082\/","title":{"rendered":"Social security payment indexation to increase payments from January 1, 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More than a million Australians will receive a cash boost in less than a month.<\/p>\n<p>\ufeffSocial Services Minister Tanya Plibersek today announced that after a new round of indexation, social security payments would increase for Australians receiving youth allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY, youth disability pension, and carer allowance payments.<\/p>\n<p>The changes will kick in from January 1, 2026.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/cec67851-5902-4daf-81dc-52b4a6208cf9.jpeg\"   alt=\"The federal government will introduce legislation to protect the use of cash.\"\/>Social security payments will get a boost in the new year.
