Australians are set to witness one last celestial spectacle for 2025, with the final full Supermoon of this year set to rise over WA on Friday night.<\/p>\n
Known as the Cold Moon, the lunar event marks the third full Supermoon for the year, with the Moon sitting closer to Earth than usual \u2014 appearing bigger, brighter and sharper in Perth\u2019s night sky.<\/p>\n
Matt Woods from Perth Observatory says the event is part of a long tradition of naming moons after seasonal markers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe moons are named after certain seasons. Each moon has its own meaning, and a lot of the naming comes from North American traditions.\u201d<\/p>\n
Where to see the cold moon in Perth? <\/p>\n
Sky watchers will be able to look up on Friday night and see the Supermoon starting at 7.55pm.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou really need your own eyes \u2014 go out the front yard or the backyard and you\u2019ll see it. \u201c<\/p>\n

The Cold Moon is the final supermoon of 2025, but sky-lovers won\u2019t have long to wait for the next big lunar moments.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe next one is on January 3rd, and then we will see full moons again on November 24th and December 24th next year,\u201d Woods said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe get three or four every year \u2014 so whilst they aren\u2019t super rare, they\u2019re still beautiful events worth stepping outside for.\u201d<\/p>\n
For those eager to capture the moment, Woods shared one simple tip.<\/p>\n
