Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\nMs Kulis\u2019 close friend Alison Erskine revealed that the same dog had tried to rip her arm off just weeks prior to the fatal incident.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt bit through the tendons so they flew her to Adelaide and she stayed in hospital,\u201d Ms Erskine told the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen she came back (to Whyalla) she wasn\u2019t the same person, she was so thin and withdrawn.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite the red flags from concerned friends and family members, Ms Kulis insisted on keeping the dog that she and her partner had bred.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat dog is mental, it\u2019s mad – I told her and (Arlan) Potter they should have it put down but they wouldn\u2019t,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe mother is sweet, but her son, this dog, was mad. I came out of the bathroom and it went for me once.<\/p>\n
\u201cI told them I didn\u2019t want to be around it.\u201d<\/p>\n
When the concerned friend arrived to Ms Kulis\u2019 residence on Thursday, she was greeted by the horrid sight of Mr Potter \u201ccovered in blood\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe told me the dog attacked Chrissy. Police told me to move on so I shouted at Potter to tell Chrissy I would see her at the hospital,\u201d Ms Erskine said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut then I found out that she had died.\u201d<\/p>\n
She leaves behind her partner of 10 years, Arlan Potter, who she had been engaged to.<\/p>\n
Neighbours said they were not surprised the dog had turned on Ms Kulis following several past incidents, with one revealing that she would not walk her dog past their property for fear of an attack.<\/p>\n
\u201cI told her she should get rid of him because of her health – that she should think about her own health instead of the animal\u2019s,\u201d a neighbour told The Daily Mail.<\/p>\n
Ms Erskine said that Ms Kulis was an alcoholic and had fallen terribly ill due to cirrhosis of the liver, and she failed to heed doctors warnings to give up drinking.<\/p>\n
Her condition worsened to the point that Mr Potter would push her around in a trolley because she was unable to walk.<\/p>\n
