Incredibly, Jamestown (2-6, 0-2) came within 70-68 on an Owen Hektner three-pointer with 6:11 remaining in the second half to cap a 34-16 run for UJ.<\/p>\n<p>But on the next possession for Minot State, Deuce Benjamin hit his fourth three-pointer of the game. Kiku Parker Jr. shortly after that hit a jumper and MSU was up 77-70. Twice after that, the Jimmies were within three, but came no closer again.<\/p>\n<p>Benjamin, who began his collegiate career at Division I New Mexico State, scored 28 points. Parker had 13 as MSU shot 59 percent from the floor.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Walters led four Jamestown players in double figures with 23 points and six rebounds. Hektner hit five three-pointers for his 15 points. Davis Walker and Ford Okehi each scored 10, but the Jimmies suffered their fifth straight defeat, the program\u2019s longest losing streak since the 2019-20 season.<\/p>\n<p>Women: Minot St. 97, Jamestown 88<br \/>Minot State (4-5, 1-1 NSIC) set program records for points and made three-pointers in a game.<\/p>\n<p>The offensive peak in the game for the Beavers came in the third quarter when MSU scored 33 points, all on 11 threes. In fact, in that quarter, 14 of the 15 Minot State shot attempts were on three-pointers. For the game, Minot State made 18 three-pointers and shot 57 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Tiyahna Trottier scored a career high 29 points for MSU, including five made threes. Maya Aguilar and Jaime Skeggs each poured in 17.<\/p>\n<p>Allie Berns topped Jamestown (3-3, 1-1) with 23 points and five rebounds. Samantha Paulsen scored a career-high 22 points with five rebounds, three assists and five steals.<\/p>\n<p>Both Jimmie teams will host UMary on Saturday at Harold Newman Arena.
