An Australian has shared the major reasons they \u201cregret\u201d moving back to Australia after living in the UK for 10 years.<\/p>\n
The Aussie, who now has an English partner, revealed they decided to move Down Under after constantly wondering what life would be like on the other side of the equator.<\/p>\n
However, now that they are back, the Aussie admitted that it\u2019s \u201cnot as amazing as I thought it would be\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cSure, it\u2019s great being close to family and old friends again, but beyond that, it all feels a bit bland.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the UK, I was constantly travelling, surrounded by history and deep culture. There was always something new to see or someone new to meet.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow I feel like I\u2019ve just slipped back into my old life, and nothing\u2019s really changed,\u201d the deflated Aussie shared on Reddit.<\/p>\n
Explaining what they believe makes Australia inferior to the UK, the Redditor slammed \u201ccliquey\u201d social circles and a \u201cmonotonous\u201d daily routine.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople here seem so shut off from the rest of the world, you can\u2019t have a proper conversation about global topics.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe social circles are quite cliquey, the humour doesn\u2019t hit the same, and there\u2019s this general lack of culture and community spirit.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd don\u2019t get me started on the pubs. So many of them are just big, soulless pokies venues now.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s not much to do besides the same daily routine\u2026get up early, go for a coffee, maybe hit the beach, and repeat. It\u2019s nice, but it gets monotonous fast,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n
The Aussie concluded the post saying they \u201creally wish I didn\u2019t feel this way\u201d and that they have \u201chad a good time so far\u201d, but they are \u201cmissing the previous life I had in the UK\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cLiving in Melbourne and Australia in general depresses me too much. It\u2019s a really boring and monotonous culture and lifestyle.
