Violent Grohl<\/a>, the 19-year-old daughter of Dave Grohl<\/a> and touring member of Foo Fighters, has released her debut solo singles, \u201cTHUM\u201d and \u201cApplefish.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m beyond excited to finally share a little bit of what I\u2019ve been working on over the last year,\u201d wrote Violet on Instagram. \u201cI made these tracks with the most badass group of musicians, so happy they\u2019re finally yours.\u201d<\/p>\n

The songs have been released physically as a 7-inch vinyl available via Bandcamp<\/a>, with \u201cTHUM\u201d as the A-side and \u201cApplefish\u201d as the B-Side. \u201cTHUM\u201d can also be streamed below.<\/p>\n

\u201cTHUM\u201d has a \u201990s alternative vibe, calling to mind bands like Veruca Salt, Hole, and The Breeders. Meanwhile, \u201cApplefish,\u201d which is only available via a digital purchase or via the vinyl single, is a slower song with a cinematic feel, highlighted by Violet\u2019s velvety vocals.<\/p>\n

Violet already has a fan of her new music in Public Enemy legend Flavor Flav, who commented on her Instagram post, \u201cWOOWWW,!!! Way to go my girl,!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Roughly a year ago, it was reported that Violet was working on her debut album<\/a> with producer Justin Raisen (Kim Gordon, Charli XCX), among other collaborators.<\/p>\n

Previously, Violet appeared on the Foo Fighters song \u201cShow Me How\u201d from the band\u2019s 2023 album, But Here We Are, while also teaming up with her dad on a cover of X\u2019s \u201cNausea\u201d<\/a> in 2021. In addition, she\u2019s performed with Foo Fighters numerous times in concert.<\/p>\n
