The Tennessee Titans went 3-14 the season after firing head coach Mike Vrabel.<\/p>\n
After earning the first overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Titans are 1-11 and five games away from securing a second straight top selection. <\/p>\n
Long story short, the decision hasn\u2019t delivered the results Tennessee had hoped for. <\/p>\n
But for Tennessee radio personality<\/a> Jared Stillman, Vrabel owes his success to owner Robert Kraft\u2019s decision to take the offensive coaching staff hiring out of Vrabel\u2019s hands. <\/p>\n \u201cWhat I can\u2019t get over is how Mike Vrabel has been able to, in New England, overcome his single biggest issue as head coach of the Tennessee Titans\u2026 his coaching staff,\u201d Stillman said. <\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n \u201cHe couldn\u2019t hire Shane Bowen to be the defensive coordinator because he was the New York Giants\u2019 defensive coordinator. He couldn\u2019t hire Todd Downing or Tim Kelly to be the offensive coordinator because Robert Kraft insisted on Josh McDaniels coaching the quarterback.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Stillman has made headlines throughout this season as he continues to bash the Titans\u2019 former head coach. He has called Vrabel<\/a> an \u201coverrated coach\u201d and dubbed the New England vs. Tennessee matchup earlier this season a \u201cVrabel Special,\u201d predicting<\/a> a Titans upset win in a game they would go on to lose by 18.<\/p>\n Stillman then played the hits by diminishing Vrabel\u2019s success to the coaching staff and referencing New England\u2019s hotly debated strength of schedule.<\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n \u201c(The coaching staff) coupled with the fact that the Patriots have a very easy schedule,\u201d Stillman said. \u201cDrake Maye\u2019s talent \u2014 which was there before Mike Vrabel got there \u2014 and Robert Kraft spending money in free agency is why they\u2019re 11-2!\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Tennessee Titans went 3-14 the season after firing head coach Mike Vrabel.
