‘Wedding is called off’: Smriti Mandhana ends rumours about marriage to Palash Muchhal<\/a><\/p>\n\u201cIt\u2019s been very difficult for me to see people react so easily on baseless rumours about something which has been most sacred to me,\u201d he wrote in his Instagram story.<\/p>\n
Urging people to be more empathetic and responsible online, he added, \u201cIts the most difficult phase of my life and I will deal with it gracefully holding on to my beliefs. I truly hope we, as a society, learn to pause before judging someone based on unverified gossip, whose sources are never identified. Our words can wound in ways we may never understand.\u201d<\/p>\n
Palash also indicated that strict legal action will be taken against those spreading false or defamatory content, saying his team is already in motion.<\/p>\n
Earlier in the day, Mandhana issued a public statement confirming that the wedding was called off and requested privacy for both families, saying the matter should be closed and respected.<\/p>\n
