{"id":333478,"date":"2025-12-07T20:29:10","date_gmt":"2025-12-07T20:29:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/333478\/"},"modified":"2025-12-07T20:29:10","modified_gmt":"2025-12-07T20:29:10","slug":"spanish-rider-reveals-i-expect-nothing-from-new-worldsbk-class","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/333478\/","title":{"rendered":"Spanish rider reveals \u201cI expect nothing\u201d from new WorldSBK class"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Benat Fernandez says he has the same expectations for the 2026 World Sportbike season as he had in the 2025 WorldSSP300 championship: \u201cI expect nothing\u201d.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">2025 was Fernandez\u2019s first season in WorldSSP300, that coinciding with the final season of the 300 championship that arrived in 2017.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Despite his inexperience, he was able to make an immediate impact, taking pole position at the first round in Portugal, then winning Race 2 there. He went on to win the championship in a tense final race showdown at Jerez, taking the race win and title with a four-wide pass into the final corner.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Having approached the season with no expectations, the success he gained at the end of it is clearly something that is influencing Fernandez\u2019s approach to the 2026 season when Supersport 300 will be replaced by the new World Sportbike category as the third tier of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/wsbk\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">World Superbike<\/a> pyramid.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI expect nothing, same as the beginning of this year \u2013 I didn\u2019t expect [anything],\u201d Fernandez told WorldSBK.com during the EICMA show in Milan.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMy goal is the same: try to do my best. With this, I\u2019m very happy, if I do my best.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThis means I can always push a bit more and improve all the races.
