Adam Hegarty<\/p>\n
A City of Armagh rugby player has died suddenly following a match over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Adam Hegarty from Newry passed away on Saturday night after playing for the club\u2019s Second XV earlier that day.<\/p>\n
Adam had scored a try for Armagh second XV on Saturday in what became his final appearance for the club.<\/p>\n
In a death notice Adam is described as the much loved son of Noel and Caroline and brother of Jack and Ellen.<\/p>\n
He is deeply regretted by his parents, brother, sister, grandparents Brendan and Peggy, Oliver Turley, and his wider family circle and many friends.<\/p>\n
City of Armagh Rugby Club described Adam as a \u2018true gentleman\u2019. <\/p>\n
It said in a statement: \u201cOur heartfelt condolences go out to the Hegarty family and to all of Adam\u2019s friends and teammates at this incredibly difficult time.<\/p>\n
\u201cAdam joined our club at youth level and progressed through the youth ranks before moving into our senior teams.<\/p>\n

“Adam was highly respected by coaches, teammates and all who knew him – both on and off the field. A true gentleman who represented our club with pride.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe will be greatly missed by the entire City of Armagh RFC community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Armagh City Sinn F\u00e9in councillor Sarah Duffy said it was \u201cdevastating news \u2013 thinking of Adam\u2019s family, friends and all who loved him\u201d.<\/p>\n
