\u201cSubsequently, reports were made to South Australia Police in September which prompted investigations.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe AFL Integrity Unit was advised of the matters and both players have been provided with the necessary and ongoing support.<\/p>\n
\u201cAny form of online abuse, discrimination or threatening behaviour is unacceptable and it has no place in our society.\u201d<\/p>\n

The threats allegedly came four days after Adelaide\u2019s home qualifying loss to Collingwood, which Ranke missed through suspension for making a homophobic slur.<\/p>\n
Rankine reported the matter to police, and after SAPOL Cybercrime Investigation Section spent months investigation the allegations, the man was arrested this week.<\/p>\n
The man was charged with using carriage service in an offensive manner. He\u2019s been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on January 30.<\/p>\n
