{"id":336975,"date":"2025-12-09T10:51:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T10:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/336975\/"},"modified":"2025-12-09T10:51:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T10:51:07","slug":"motogp-manager-claims-marc-marquez-wont-think-twice-at-2027-honda-offer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/336975\/","title":{"rendered":"MotoGP manager claims Marc Marquez \u201cwon\u2019t think twice\u201d at 2027 Honda offer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long-time MotoGP rider manager Carlo Pernat believes Marc Marquez \u201cwon\u2019t think twice\u201d about an offer to return to Honda in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>The seven-time MotoGP champion began his premier class career with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/repsol-honda-team\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Honda<\/a> in 2013 and spent 11 seasons with the Japanese brand, winning six titles in that time.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership came to an emotional end in 2023, as uncompetitive machinery forced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1654\/marc-marquez\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marc Marquez<\/a> to make a risky move to Gresini Ducati in order to rediscover his form.<\/p>\n<p>Marquez\u2019s two seasons on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/ducati-lenovo-team\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ducati<\/a> machinery have already proven extremely successful, with the 32-year-old scoring 14 grand prix wins and a seventh world title in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Would Marc Marquez leave Ducati in 2027?<\/p>\n<p>At this stage, it is widely expected that Marquez will re-sign with Ducati for the 2027 rules reset.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>However, the gains Honda has made in his absence have prompted questions about a potential reunion in the new contract cycle.<\/p>\n<p>On this matter, Marquez said in October: \u201cI have the same mentality: if you are fast and you are happy, and you are smiling in one place, don\u2019t change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s see. You never know, because sport changes from one day to the other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carlo Pernat, a long-time rider manager in the MotoGP paddock, spoke to Telenord about the 2027 rider market and believes Honda \u201cwould do anything\u201d to get Marquez back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn my opinion, [Pecco] Bagnaia will never want anything other than a Ducati; he even said in Valencia that he would like to finish his career wearing those colours,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s clear that another season like this would be unthinkable because, if it were to happen, it would certainly put a strain on the relationship between rider and team, but be careful.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDucati needs a champion, or at least runs the risk of having to have one&#8230; Marc Marquez might not wear Ducati colours in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonda is in Marc M\u00e1rquez&#8217;s heart, and Alberto Puig would do anything to have him back in the garage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Honda continues to grow technically, I think Japan will offer something, and Marc Marquez won&#8217;t think twice if they guarantee him a competitive bike.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThink about it, it&#8217;s something that the new MotoGP bosses might really like, given that Liberty Media will focus on the narrative.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you know what makes me smile?
