Holger Rune is keen to take his game to the next level.<\/p>\n

Once tipped to be the next big star of men\u2019s tennis alongside Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner<\/a>, so far the Dane has not lived up to that billing.<\/p>\n

Rune is still only 22 years of age and has yet to hit his physical prime let alone his peak tennis form.<\/p>\n

But he realises the need and desire for greatness and therefore Holger Rune<\/a> recently spent time with one of tennis\u2019 most iconic players.<\/p>\n

In 2025 Rune defeated Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> to win the ATP Barcelona Open. This came a month after reaching the Indian Wells final, where Rune lost to British number one Jack Draper<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Excluding the above results, this season has been a tough one for Rune, who has not progressed beyond the fourth round at any of the three Grand Slams played so far.<\/p>\n

To help improve his game, Rune sought advice from Andre Agassi<\/a> after the French Open<\/a> as they worked on court together for three days.<\/p>\n

Following his opening win at the Canadian Open<\/a>, Rune was asked about the time he shared with Agassi, who he said would not become his permanent coach.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI got in touch with him after the French Open. We talked, we had a phone call together, and we were talking about doing some days together,\u201d Rune disclosed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was really excited to see his view on my game, and see how he saw it, and see how he can help a little bit and make things better.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, we did those three days. Obviously three days is not going to massively change something, but it was nice, it was really nice to see his view on my game. We talked a lot, we had some good sessions on the court as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s not going to be with me at the tournaments, so he\u2019s not like the coach for me, but definitely we keep in touch. Yeah, he\u2019s a very, very nice guy, and I really respect how he sees tennis, it\u2019s very incredible. Also, obviously, his career was insane.\u201d<\/p>\n

One person who shared their thoughts on partnership with Agassi and Rune is Andy Roddick<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 2003 US Open<\/a> winner knows Agassi from their time together playing on the ATP Tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Given his achievements in the game and the respect he has from those on the circuit, Roddick thinks Rune choosing to seek advice was a good move.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe number one reason why I like this is because Andre doesn\u2019t need the job. And every other person who has kissed Holger\u2019s a** and asked him for a job, has needed that job,\u201d Roddick said via his \u2018Served\u2019 podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure they didn\u2019t sign a two year deal. I\u2019m sure it\u2019s like \u2018hey, let\u2019s get some input. Let\u2019s see if we can\u2019t course correct.<\/p>\n
