{"id":340714,"date":"2025-12-11T02:10:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-11T02:10:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/340714\/"},"modified":"2025-12-11T02:10:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-11T02:10:07","slug":"club-brugge-0-3-arsenal-11-dec-2025-game-analysis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/340714\/","title":{"rendered":"Club Brugge 0-3 Arsenal (11 Dec, 2025) Game Analysis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a data-player-guid=\"e8393d3a-a2e5-b262-f720-eccb7252e525\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/293236\/noni-madueke\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Noni Madueke<\/a> scored twice to fire <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"feb44e87-58fa-9597-2691-b3c32768ebe4\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=359\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arsenal<\/a> to a 3-0 victory at <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"8e6e95fc-4c18-1078-519c-b78f5fb1cf72\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=570\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Club Brugge<\/a> and all-but assure their qualification for the Champions League knockout stages with two group matches to play.<\/p>\n<p>Madueke opened his Arsenal account against <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"25b5e432-d3d2-939f-f73b-6e531a6fbd91\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=132\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bayern Munich<\/a> a fortnight ago and the <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"217dee4e-6974-a197-49a2-afda6e1788c9\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=448\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England<\/a> international was at it again here in <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"4084f797-3877-2af0-b70f-570d25a1a141\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=459\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Belgium<\/a> after 25 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The former <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"c43a00b9-2826-72b3-77a0-62730abc936e\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=363\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chelsea<\/a> man picked up the ball just inside the hosts&#8217; half before shrugging off the attention of left-back <a data-player-guid=\"5c3fab83-d9ab-3dcc-8151-9f3271433200\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/363068\/joaquin-seys\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joaquin Seys<\/a> and then unleashing a venomous 22-yard strike which crashed off the underneath of the crossbar and into the net.<\/p>\n<p>The second half was just 80 seconds old when Madueke had his second after he headed home Martin Zubimendi&#8217;s cross.<\/p>\n<p><a data-player-guid=\"a84e514e-cbe8-9e47-26c9-9a5e3bc5ee00\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/269844\/gabriel-martinelli\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gabriel Martinelli<\/a> extended Arsenal&#8217;s advantage to three with a brilliant strike to become the first Arsenal player to score in five consecutive Champions League contests.<\/p>\n<p>Arsenal follow <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"6ebc2fd0-35d3-733b-5666-b75035a3bce9\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=360\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Manchester United<\/a>, Leeds, <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"a47fbcec-c948-cf4c-9e41-3dfa37588c9c\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=364\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Liverpool<\/a> and <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"94fd5d7e-35b1-9d52-c9f2-4a37259bea36\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=382\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Manchester City<\/a> in becoming the fifth English team to win all of their first six European Cup matches.<\/p>\n<p>The top eight are assured of automatic qualification to the last 16 and Arsenal are six points clear of ninth-placed Liverpool with a superior goal difference of 13.<\/p>\n<p>The north Londoners need just one point &#8211; with matches against Inter Milan on January 20 and Kazakhstan side Kairat at the Emirates a week later &#8211; to guarantee knockout European football for a third straight season.<\/p>\n<p>Arsenal&#8217;s impressive 18-match unbeaten run came to an end with a stoppage-time 2-1 defeat at <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"610557ff-e870-ea0e-a3b2-8244df325d22\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/team?id=362\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aston Villa<\/a> on Saturday and Mikel Arteta was forced to ring the changes for their match in Bruges with eight players unavailable.<\/p>\n<p>Midfielder Christian Norgaard was deployed as an emergency centre-half after <a data-player-guid=\"64c4d072-74cb-42f5-c878-e32eb1452a5a\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/282716\/jurrien-timber\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jurri\u00ebn Timber<\/a> failed to shake off a knock he received in the loss at Villa Park.<\/p>\n<p>Martin Odegaard forced a save from Tristan van den Heuvel after just three minutes before Piero Hincapie&#8217;s side-footed effort from Myles Lewis-Skelly&#8217;s miscued effort rebounded off the post.<\/p>\n<p>Then the breakthrough arrived through a player who some Arsenal fans did not want to complete a \u00a350million move from Chelsea.<\/p>\n<p>Madueke navigated the noise surrounding his move across London well and although a knee injury kept him sidelined for two months, he picked up where he left off on his return &#8211; scoring in Arsenal&#8217;s 3-1 victory against Bayern Munich and unleashing a thunderbolt on 25 minutes in Bruges.<\/p>\n<p>The home side ended the first half strongly with <a data-player-guid=\"573928c4-fcbe-2795-bdcd-c00ba2aab4b3\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/78836\/carlos-forbs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carlos Forbs<\/a> calling <a data-player-guid=\"917afc98-2d15-9b9d-6d92-1d4ca9c6f1ae\" href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/soccer\/player\/_\/id\/196176\/david-raya\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">David Raya<\/a> into action.
