It is not surprising to see Red Bull superstar and four-time world champion Max Verstappen headline the list at $114 million. <\/p>\n
It may have been a tough first year at Ferrari for Lewis Hamilton, but he remained one of the most well-paid drivers in the sport sitting second behind Verstappen at $106 million, although just $750,000 of that came in the form of bonuses.<\/p>\n
That comes after Hamilton failed to record a single podium finish this season in comparison to teammate Charles Leclerc, who had seven on his way to fifth in the drivers\u2019 championship.<\/p>\n
Despite that achievement and the 242 points he scored along the way, Leclerc didn\u2019t get a single cent in bonuses while his $45 million salary came in well short of Hamilton.<\/p>\n
Up next was the now reigning world champion Lando Norris at just over $86 million, including nearly $60 million in bonuses, followed by McLaren teammate Piastri. <\/p>\n

According to the publication, Piastri\u2019s most successful F1 season will see him pocket around $56 million from his $15 million salary and $41 million in bonuses.<\/p>\n
That is up from the more than $17 million in bonuses that Piastri took home last season.<\/p>\n
Forbes did not include off-track compensation, including endorsements, in its calculations with bonuses typically calculated based on points scored along with race or championship wins.<\/p>\n
It can also vary depending on the size of the team and experience of the driver.<\/p>\n
