Image: Supplied<\/p>\n<p>Kostecki dropped into the facility in Concord, North Carolina, on Tuesday and witnessed the Ford Mustang undergoing evaluations.<\/p>\n<p>Each of the three homologation teams are only allowed five representatives at the test, meaning Kostecki\u2019s appearance raised some eyebrows among rivals.<\/p>\n<p>However, it\u2019s believed Kostecki notified Supercars of his plan to drop into the facility and was permitted to observe during a brief visit.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1002329\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/E-Brodie-Z99_8898-copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1278\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Brodie Kostecki. Image: Richard Gresham<\/p>\n<p>Kostecki, who spent a portion of his youth living and racing in the US, flew out of Australia directly after the Supercars Gala Awards and was catching up with friends in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The technically savvy Kostecki was the driving force behind a push that resulted in aerodynamic changes to the Mustang midway through the 2025 season.<\/p>\n<p>He led the Ford parity fight throughout the year having won the 2023 championship and \u201924 Bathurst 1000 with Chevrolet squad Erebus Motorsport.<\/p>\n<p>Triple Eight has taken over from DJR as Ford\u2019s homologation team, sending its first completed Mustang to the tunnel with a variety of changes requested by Supercars for commonality.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/supercars-news-toyota-supra-wind-tunnel-testing-update-windshear-parity-aerodynamics-ford-gm\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Supercars issues US wind tunnel testing update<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Mustang is being tested alongside Walkinshaw Andretti United\u2019s new Toyota Supra and a Chevrolet Camaro supplied by GM\u2019s replacement homologation squad, Team 18.<\/p>\n<p>While the Camaro was taken as the datum car to which the revised Ford and new Toyota would be matched, it\u2019s understood initial running has resulted in a change of plan.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the changes already made to the Mustang and the tools available, it\u2019s been deemed simpler to tune both the Camaro and Supra to match the Ford.<\/p>\n<p>That will likely involve new parts for the Camaro being made onsite in the US under the direction of GM\u2019s technical lead Jeromy Moore.<\/p>\n<p><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.parcelprotect.com.au\/deliveryrun\/?utm_source=Speedcafe&amp;utm_website=EDM&amp;utm_campaign=Speedcafe_2025\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"328_Parcel-speedcafe_takeover_v1_728x90\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/328_Parcel-speedcafe_takeover_v1_728x90.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Ford Mustang in the Windshear wind tunnel.
