Rap icon Nicki Minaj<\/a> is facing some intense rage after news broke that she is following President Donald Trump<\/a> on the social media platform X.<\/p>\n

Minaj has made her way into the political arena<\/a> in recent weeks, taking up Trump\u2019s allegations that Christians are persecuted in Nigeria. Nigeria, a strategic U.S. partner, has repeatedly denied the president\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n

Now, after the popular \u201cPop Crave\u201d X account posted<\/a> about the development late Tuesday, the singer and songwriter has been met with scrutiny in the replies.<\/p>\n

One user wrote<\/a>, “she just does it to herself at this point,” while another took a swipe<\/a> at her fan base: “i have to say it again , barbz called EVERYONE MAGA just for this to be the turnout.”<\/p>\n

“The official f— you to any and all of her female, immigrant, Black\/POC, Muslim & LGBTQ fans,” a different person posted<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Someone else asked<\/a>, \u201cwhy is she making this her whole personality?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe gon put her stylist to WORK to top these for met gala,\u201d one user said<\/a>, attaching past images of pro-Trump messages on dresses.<\/p>\n

Another person added<\/a> that \u201ci can\u2019t even defend her anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other social media users poked fun<\/a> at liberals over the move. <\/p>\n

After first declaring Nigeria a \u201cCOUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN,\u201d Trump announced<\/a> last month that the United States will \u201cimmediately stop\u201d aid and assistance to the country if the killing of Christians continues. He also threatened military intervention, instructing the Defense Department to \u201cprepare for possible action.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to do things to Nigeria that Nigeria\u2019s not going to be happy about,\u201d Trump said in a post<\/a> on his Truth Social platform. \u201cAnd may very well go into that now-disgraced country, guns a-blazing, to completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrible, horrible atrocities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Minaj publicly responded<\/a> to the president on X, thanking him and his team for \u201ctaking this seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cReading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude,\u201d Minaj wrote<\/a> in a viral post. \u201cWe live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Minaj drew the attention of the Trump administration, receiving an invitation by Mike Waltz, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, to speak during an event last month. In a brief speech, she went on to thank Trump for his leadership.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis isn\u2019t about taking sides,\u201d Minaj said. \u201cThis is about standing up in the face of injustice. It\u2019s about what I\u2019ve always stood for my entire career, and I will continue to stand for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
