Geelong\u2019s own Ollie Peake has been named to captain Australia in their title defence at the ICC Under-19 men\u2019s Cricket World Cup in 2026.<\/p>\n
Speaking to K rock\u2019s Tim and Davo, Ollie recalled hoisting the trophy in South Africa in 2024.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m very excited to get over to Namibia and Zimbabwe, it\u2019s such an honour to be able to lead the boys,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince the World Cup we had two years ago it\u2019s been something that I\u2019ve been hoping and dreaming to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 19-year-old has been busy already this summer, playing for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield and gearing up to play for the Melbourne Renegades.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor as long as I can remember I\u2019ve always had a bat in my hand, playing with my brother and my dad, then I transitioned to South Barwon Cricket Club in Geelong and now at Geelong Cricket Club, so it\u2019s been awesome,\u201d Peake said.<\/p>\n
The Gades will play their first two home games of the season at GMHBA Stadium, with Ollie saying it would be extra special to play here at home.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have to get picked first, but it\u2019s something that I\u2019ve had on the calendar since it came out that there are a few games in Geelong,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be so cool to play in front of everyone, to have a true home game. A lot of people talk about it being the best so hopefully I can get a game.\u201d<\/p>\n
Asked about the rumours the Renegades could consider relocating to Geelong, Peake said the club would get his vote.<\/p>\n
\u201cAbsolutely they would, I\u2019m all in for that. It would be great to have our home games at GMHBA,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
