Eli Tomac is still happy with his move to KTM saying as a platform and a base it has been really easy to set up, despite a bit of struggle in Australia in the whoops during WSX which appears to be just a blip and a postive learning experience on the lead up to AMA supercross in 2026. <\/p>\n
Tomac says it wasn\u2019t really the scoop tyre that caused the issues in Australia, but more the way the whoops were! Speaking at the press conference at Anaheim, Eli said: \u201cSo I did run the scoop tyre there\u00a0and I I don\u2019t think it was actually the scoop. I think maybe there\u2019s a combination of things because there were like a wider spaced out of whoops.\u00a0Like I think they seemed like they\u2019re like 14 feet or something and for me, I honestly felt like my my fork was soft and then it was causing like some spinning. So just a little bit different condition that I haven\u2019t thrown myself into and it\u2019s something we learn. It\u2019s like well, we need to be better in these bigger heavier low-frequency whoops\u00a0so it\u2019s a good time to figure it out and try to improve that that spot.\u201d<\/p>\n
On his contract with KTM, Eli said it is a one year deal and both parties were happy with that, \u201cIt\u2019s just a one-year deal. There\u2019s a clause in there. Like if I win supercross I can\u00a0race again but for the main it\u2019s a one-year deal.\u00a0I was just\u00a0happy to have the opportunity to go race. They were satisfied with a one-year deal as well\u00a0so they we were able to make it work for the year by the basis\u00a0and then it was like it\u2019s an auto renewal if I win and if I want to race again.\u201d<\/p>\n
