Working with Jack Nicholson<\/a> is as good as it gets.<\/p>\n

At least that\u2019s what writer-director James L. Brooks thinks after working with the actor for nearly three decades, even directing him in two of his three Oscar-winning performances in Terms of Endearment and As Good as It Gets.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But while Jack hasn\u2019t appeared onscreen since James\u2019 2010 movie How Do You Know alongside Reese Witherspoon<\/a> and Paul Rudd<\/a>, the director is \u201cvery much in contact\u201d with the 88-year-old\u2014and has a bold take about Jack\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m sure he’ll be working again,\u201d James told E! News in an exclusive interview on the red carpet at the Ella McCay world premiere in Los Angeles Dec. 9. \u201cI hope it’s with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Jack wasn\u2019t in James\u2019 new movie Ella McCay, starring Emma Mackey and Jamie Lee Curtis<\/a> and exclusively in theaters Dec. 12, it was in part due to the storyline, as James noted, \u201cThere’s no part in this film for anybody like Jack.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though Jack has been staying out of the public eye\u2014aside from some rare appearances<\/a> on his daughter Lorraine Nicholson\u2019s Instagram\u2014James has long been vocal about seeing the One Flew Over the Cuckoo\u2019s Nest actor back on the big screen again following his 15-year hiatus.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Working with Jack Nicholson is as good as it gets.
