These headphones aren\u2019t like the others.<\/p>\n

And to be honest, I kind of like it.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been using the Nothing Headphone (1)<\/a> as my daily driver headphones for a while now and while they aren\u2019t perfect, I still think they are a solid recommendation for someone who is bored of modern headphone design.<\/p>\n

So what did I think of the headphones in a road test for 7You?<\/a><\/p>\n

Design<\/p>\n

Straight out of the box they feel really premium, very soft ear cushions, aluminium and plastic body and physical controls.<\/a><\/p>\n

From a design perspective I really like how unique they are and honestly, I wouldn\u2019t change much.<\/p>\n

It would be nice if the ear cups could rotate a full 180 degrees,<\/a> but I\u2019m clutching at straws to find issues when it comes to the build of these headphones.<\/p>\n

The physical controls on the right earcup are a nice reprieve from the onslaught of touch-controlled headphones on the market at the moment.<\/p>\n

The volume roller is satisfying and pressing it will play and pause your music.<\/a><\/p>\n

Press and hold cycles through noise cancelling on\/off and transparency mode.<\/p>\n

There is also a pretty intuitive paddle switch that skips through your tracks and a button that can be held down to activate your phones voice assistant.<\/p>\n

With the Nothing X app all these controls<\/a> can be customised to your liking but I found the out of the box setup to be pretty solid.<\/p>\n

Nothing boasts that the sound from these headphones has been tuned<\/a> by high-end audio brand KEF. And the default sound is\u2026 divisive.<\/p>\n

Everyone\u2019s taste in audio is different and the standard Nothing sound isn\u2019t my cup of tea, however. And this is a big HOWEVER\u2026 The EQ options in the Nothing X app are seriously so good.<\/p>\n

I was able to tune the sound of these headphones<\/a> to micro-level detail to the point where I could swear I was wearing my Sennheiser HD 280 PROs.<\/p>\n

Nothing also leans into the community side of things letting you import other users EQ into your app using a QR code. Very good. I would argue that (once tuned) these are some of the best sounding Bluetooth headphones at this price point<\/a><\/p>\n

The noise cancelling is good. Not the greatest on the market, I\u2019d still give that crown to Sony.<\/p>\n

But for the price, the Nothing Headphone (1)<\/a> punch well above their weight.<\/p>\n

Connection is straightforward as ever over Bluetooth, but if cables are your thing you can connect with USB-C or a standard 3.5mm audio cable.<\/p>\n

So who are these for?<\/p>\n

The Nothing Headphone (1)<\/a> are unique in more ways than one, their design is overtly at odds with the visual styling of the rest of the market and the EQ through the Nothing X app is gold standard.<\/p>\n

I would recommend these headphones for anyone who feels bored with the same same but different state of tech at the moment.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re after a pair of headphones that turn heads<\/a> then these might be the set for you.<\/p>\n
