{"id":342815,"date":"2025-12-12T09:19:12","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T09:19:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/342815\/"},"modified":"2025-12-12T09:19:12","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T09:19:12","slug":"motorsport-news-australian-duo-to-share-united-autosports-mclaren-in-asian-le-mans-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/342815\/","title":{"rendered":"Motorsport news: Australian duo to share United Autosports McLaren in Asian Le Mans Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/59-0T9A3104.jpg\" alt=\"Australian duo to lead United Autosports McLaren\"\/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tUnited Autosports&#8217; McLaren 720S GT3 to be driven by Garnet Patterson, Mark Rosser, and Wayne Boyd.<\/p>\n<p>Patterson and Rosser will join Wayne Boyd in Malaysia for the 4 Hours of Sepang, driving a 720S GT3.<\/p>\n<p>United Autosports will field three cars \u2013 two in the LMP2 class and the sole McLaren in the GT3 division.<\/p>\n<p>The Asian Le Mans Series campaign sees Patterson continue his partnership with United Autosport, having this year raced in the European Le Mans Series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBack to Speang, haven\u2019t been here for about 10 years,\u201d said Patterson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s somewhere I used to know very well, and it still feels very familiar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExcited to race with Mark who I\u2019ve known for quite some years, Wayne and the usual suspects at United. I think we\u2019ll have a good weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rosser, meanwhile, continues his GT3 endeavours. This year, he raced in GT World Challenge Australia with Team BRM in an Audi R8 with Alex Peroni.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooking forward to a big challenge! New car, new circuit, new team,\u201d said Rosser.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel really privileged to have the opportunity to drive with United Autosports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been following what Garnet\u2019s been doing over the years with this team, I\u2019ve always been very impressed \u2026 and now I\u2019m excited to be a part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Asian Le Mans Series takes place over three weekends, each featuring a pair of four-hour races. After Sepang, the series heads to Dubai and then Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n<p>The LMP2 grid features two Australians. James Allen joins RD Limited alongside Tristan Vautier and Fred Poordad, while Griffin Peebles will partner Alexander Mattschull and Mathias Beche at DKR Engineering<\/p>\n<p>As previously announced, Yasser Shahin will drive for Johor Motorsports Racing alongside Prince Abu Bakar Ibrahim and Alexander Sims in a Corvette Z06 GT3.R while Jordan Love joins Prince Jefri Ibrahim and Ben Green in the team\u2019s other car.<\/p>\n<p>New Zealand\u2019s Nick Cassidy joins IndyCar driver Nolan Siegel and Georgios Kolovos at Inter Europol Competition in the LMP2 class ahead of his FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar debut.<\/p>\n<p>The Asian Le Mans Series is live on YouTube. Race 1 takes place on Saturday at 4pm AEDT.
