Queensland Police have revoked an emergency declaration issued in a suburban area south of Brisbane and are working to substantiate reports of an armed man.<\/p>\n
Officers were called to a Maple Street address in Marsden at about 8:30am on Friday following reports a group of people were unloading a safe from a truck.<\/p>\n
Police said an “armed person” was spotted by officers inside the residence, and while three people were able to exit, it was reported that one person remained inside with a firearm.<\/p>\n
A Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) declaration was made at about 10am due to public safety concerns.<\/p>\n

Police said this was revoked after 12:30pm once they gained access to the property and confirmed no-one was inside.<\/p>\n
South-east region duty officer Inspector Laurie Shevlin said specialist and general duties police had worked to resolve the incident as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n
The emergency declaration encompassed Oregan Street, Hickory Street, Chambers Flat Road, Bunya Street and Birch Street.<\/p>\n
Residents of those areas were urged to remain indoors, while the public was asked to avoid the area.<\/p>\n

Police said their investigations into the incident were continuing, with three people assisting them with their inquiries.<\/p>\n
A crime scene has been declared at the address.<\/p>\n
