Taylor Swift is sending her fans into a tizzy yet again. On Thursday night, so-called Swifties on social media noticed something strange about the singer\u2019s 2017 album Reputation: specifically, that lyrics from two songs had mysteriously changed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Multiple surprised fans shared the changes to tracks \u201cI Did Something Bad\u201d and \u201cDelicate\u201d on social media. On \u201cDelicate,\u201d a song about wanting to be careful with a new romance, Swift typically sings, \u201cDark jeans and your Nikes, look at you\/ Oh damn never seen that color blue.\u201d But on the new version of the song, the line is \u201cGoddamn never seen that color blue.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI Did Something Bad,\u201d a song about embracing the negative reputation that comes from standing up to people who have wronged her, has a bigger tweak. The original song features the line, \u201cBut if he drops my name, then I owe him nothin\u2019\/ And if he spends my change, then he had it comin.\u201d Her new line goes, \u201cAnd if he calls me a bitch then he had it comin.\u201d<\/p>\n

What\u2019s behind the change? As fans noticed, the songs were included in the version of Reputation with Dolby Atmos sound, which is intended to create a three-dimensional soundscape<\/a>. The Dolby Atmos tracks were released by Apple Music on Dec. 12 \u2014 the same day Swift released the first two episodes of her Eras tour documentary<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The singer was previously on a mission to rerecord and release her first six albums after she was unable to purchase her master recordings<\/a>. Instead, they were sold to producer Scooter Braun, whom she accused of \u201cincessant, manipulative bullying.\u201d<\/a> Swift, whose 2018 deal with Universal Music Group and Republic Records allows her to own her masters outright, released so-called \u201cTaylor\u2019s Versions\u201d of albums Fearless, Speak Now, Red and 1989 between 2021 and 2023.<\/p>\n

However, in a letter to fans posted on her website back in May 2025, she revealed she purchased her own masters from Shamrock Holdings<\/a>, the equity firm that had previously bought them from Braun. Though she wrote that she recorded her first album, a self-titled work fans refer to as \u201cdebut,\u201d she said she had not even rerecorded half of Reputation yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it,\u201d Swift wrote in her letter. \u201cAll that defiance, that longing to be understood while feeling purposefully misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief. To be perfectly honest, it’s the one album in those first six that I thought couldn’t be improved upon redoing it. Not the music, or photos or videos. So I kept putting it off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift also wrote that the vault tracks from Reputation \u2014 aka songs that she cut from the album originally \u2014 could be released at another time, should fans want them.<\/p>\n

Swift did release at least one \u201cTaylor\u2019s Version\u201d Reputation track: \u201cLook What You Made Me Do,\u201d which appeared in a May 2025 episode of Hulu\u2019s The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Taylor Swift is sending her fans into a tizzy yet again.
