\n\t21 Savage<\/a> said he believed Drake<\/a> came through his feud with Kendrick Lamar <\/a>relatively unscathed, but still revealed he told the Toronto rapper not to throw himself into the infamous rap battle<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tNear the end of a lengthy interview on the Perspektives With Bank<\/a> podcast, 21 Savage said he told Drake \u201cnot to do all that shit\u201d and \u201cleave that shit alone\u201d as the feud was getting underway. \u201cBut goddamn,\u201d Savage added of his Her Loss<\/a> collaborator, \u201che felt like he was challenged lyrically, so he wanted to respond.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe rapper went on to recall a conversation he had with Drake, likely after Lamar\u2019s first foray into the feud on Metro Boomin and Future\u2019s \u201cLike That.\u201d<\/a> 21 Savage said he told Drake, \u201cYou finna go into a battle that you can\u2019t win. There\u2019s no way you can win.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t21 Savage explained that he meant there were some situations where, \u201ceven if you win, you still don\u2019t win.\u201d He noted that both Lamar and Drake dropped good songs during the feud, before stating, \u201cThe only difference is, when you\u2019re at the top\u2026 where does winning put you? You can\u2019t go Number One-Point-One. So how the fuck could you win, anyway?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Lamar was widely perceived as the victor of the battle thanks to the mammoth success<\/a> of \u201cNot Like Us,\u201d<\/a> 21 Savage said he didn\u2019t concern himself with who won and who lost. Asked if Drake \u201ctook a hit\u201d in the feud, though, Savage replied, \u201cNah,\u201d noting Drake is still one of the top-streamed artists. \u201cI feel like he took an internet hit,\u201d he said. \u201cBut then it be like: Damn, did you take an internet hit? Because streaming, you gotta go on the internet to stream.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for his own music, 21 Savage released his newest album<\/a>, What Happened to the Streets?, today (Dec. 12). The LP marks his fourth and follows last year\u2019s American Dream.
