The talented Brazilian fighter will have to heal up his nasty arm injury before making his return to the Octagon, but that may be sooner than most initially thought. Van is still expected to defend his UFC flyweight title against Tatsuro Taira next <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/ufc-323-fight-card-start-time-live-results-merab-vs-yan-2-mma\/408540\/dana-white-expects-joshua-van-title-defense-before-ufc-323-rematch-sportsbooks-open-bets-on-first-opponent\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">instead of waiting for an immediate rematch with Pantoja<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">On Friday, video footage surfaced of Pantoja already back in the gym. The former UFC champion can be seen wearing protection on his injured arm, but that didn\u2019t stop the Brazilian veteran from lifting weights and breaking a nice sweat.
