Speculation is mounting that the AFL<\/a> is eyeing a departure from its Docklands headquarters to an office in Melbourne’s CBD along Collins Street.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0The Australian<\/a>, while the AFL<\/a> commission is yet to sign off on the shift into the heart of the city of Melbourne, the 34-story 695 Collins Street address is widely viewed as the league’s new headquarters, given its customisability that could “suit the AFL’s needs”.<\/p>\n

Commercial and residential real estate service, Colliers, have been advising the league with the move, with several inner-city options scouted in the process but the Collins Street option looms as the final call, with its closeness to the Docklands location allowing for a smooth transition.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the tower is home to Google and Seven Network, making communications between the AFL<\/a> and two of its biggest partners much more streamlined.<\/p>\n

The move is yet to be confirmed, however, with\u00a0The Australian\u00a0reporting that the AFL<\/a> have declined to comment on the matter.<\/p>\n

The AFL<\/a> has been based at the Docklands since 2000, while prior to that they occupied office space within the MCG’s Great Southern Stand.<\/p>\n
