{"id":345939,"date":"2025-12-13T19:14:08","date_gmt":"2025-12-13T19:14:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/345939\/"},"modified":"2025-12-13T19:14:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T19:14:08","slug":"fiji-eyes-multi-sector-growth-and-innovation-fbc-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/345939\/","title":{"rendered":"Fiji eyes multi-sector growth and innovation \u2013 FBC News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/suva-city.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Fiji is entering 2026 with rising investor confidence, strong economic fundamentals and renewed partnership between government and the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>This, according to Finance Minister Esrom Immanuel.<\/p>\n<p>He states this partnership aims to accelerate growth and transformation.<\/p>\n<p>Article continues after advertisement<\/p>\n<p>The Minister said the government was pro-business and committed to clearing the path for enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>He highlights liquidity above $2.2 billion, foreign reserves near $3.8 billion, expanding private-sector credit and the Reserve Bank\u2019s upgraded 3.4 per cent growth projection for 2025 as signs of a robust economy.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister adds the reform agenda focuses on modernizing systems, simplifying processes and redesigning policies that block growth.<\/p>\n<p>Upgraded Environment Management, Town Planning and Public Health legislation along with digital permitting are key steps in this transformation.<\/p>\n<p>Immanuel said Fiji was prioritising economic diversification.<\/p>\n<p>The government is targeting renewable energy, digital services, agriculture, manufacturing and ultra-premium tourism to reduce reliance on a single sector. Communities across Fiji must become centres of innovation and opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>Investment Fiji CEO Kamal Chetty adds that investor engagement is rising across multiple sectors, including agriculture, BPO, real estate and tourism.<\/p>\n<p>Several multinational projects are set to start in 2025, showing stronger long-term commitments.<\/p>\n<p>FCEF CEO Edward Benard points out that Fiji must pair investor momentum with fair and sustainable labour and employment reforms.<\/p>\n<p>He welcomed the government\u2019s consultations to ensure the reforms are balanced.<\/p>\n<p>Immanuel adds that the government, investors and employers must act together to seize Fiji\u2019s decade of opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>He also emphasises that every business, idea and ambition matters for national transformation.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"viti-plus-link-article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.viti.plus\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stream the best of Fiji on VITI+.
