The death of Pulp Fiction star Peter Greene is shrouded in mystery with neighbours revealing odd details about finding him dead in his home.<\/p>\n
The 60-year-old was discovered face down beside a handwritten note on the floor of his apartment in New York\u2019s Lower East Side about 3.25pm on Friday local time.<\/p>\n
The note read \u201cI\u2019m still a Westie\u201d, according to the New York Daily News<\/a>, referring to an Irish-American gang that ran out of New York\u2019s Hells Kitchen in the 1970s<\/p>\n Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today Arrow<\/a><\/p>\n A neighbour of Greene\u2019s told the publication blood was \u201ceverywhere\u201d and he had suffered a facial injury.<\/p>\n Police currently do not believe foul play is involved while a medical examiner determines a cause of death.<\/p>\n Born in Montclair, New Jersey, in 1965, Greene ran away from home at age 15 and was homeless for several years before turning his sights to acting in his mid-20s.<\/p>\n Greene revealed in an interview with Premier magazine he had turned to substance abuse and drug dealing during his time living rough.<\/p>\n He burst onto the scene and was picked for villainous roles in blockbusters Pulp Fiction, The Mask and The Usual Suspects<\/a> in 1994 and 1995.<\/p>\n Greene\u2019s manager of more than 10 years, Gregg Edwards, described him as a \u201cterrific\u201d man.<\/p>\n \u201cTruly one of the great actors of our generation. His heart was as big as there was,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m going to miss him, he was a great friend.\u201d<\/p>\n Edwards revealed Greene was preparing for a role in an upcoming movie, Mascots, alongside Mickey Rourke.<\/p>\n He told NBC News<\/a> that \u201cnobody played a bad guy better than Peter.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut he also had, you know, a gentle side that most people never saw and a heart as big as gold.\u201d<\/p>\n Fans agreed, with many taking to social media to pay tribute to the actor after news broke of his death.<\/p>\n \u201cAny time Peter Greene popped up, you just knew he was gonna play the scuzziest villain,\u201d one wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cSuch a memorable character actor.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSad to hear this bad news,\u201d another said, adding Greene was one of the finest and handsome villains I have admired.\u201d<\/p>\n If you need help in a crisis, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
