in $22.8 billion port deal<\/p>\n<p>Shares\u00a0of\u00a0CK\u00a0Hutchison\u00a0swung from gains to losses Monday after announcing that it wanted a &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www1.hkexnews.hk\/listedco\/listconews\/sehk\/2025\/0728\/2025072800045.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">major strategic investor<\/a>&#8221; from China to be part of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/BLK\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BlackRock<\/a>-led <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/commodities\/ck-hutchison-wants-chinese-firm-join-bidding-its-228-billion-ports-business-2025-07-27\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">consortium bidding for its $22.8 billion<\/a> ports business.<\/p>\n<p>The investor would join as a &#8220;significant member&#8221; of the consortium, the company said in a regulatory filing hours after the expiry of a 145-day exclusivity window with the group.<\/p>\n<p>The sale of CK Hutchison&#8217;s 43 ports, which included two along the Panama Canal linking the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, has been viewed by Beijing as a threat to its interests.
