Talented local junior Sean Russell looks set to take over Zac Lomax<\/a>‘s right wing spot at Parramatta<\/a> next season – but there could be a hiccup.<\/p>\n

Russell comes off contract at the end of next season and is squarely in the sights of the Perth Bears for their maiden campaign in 2027.<\/p>\n

The Eels are keen to retain Russell, who suddenly is a key man due to Lomax’s shock departure, but he stands to do better financially at the Bears, who are desperate for experienced players to fill their roster.<\/p>\n

“There is interest there so Sean has some decisions to make,” Russell’s manager Gavin Orr told Wide World of Sports.<\/p>\n

Russell played 20 games for the Eels this year – mainly in the centres, scoring five tries and kicking 15 goals.<\/p>\n

The Bears are slowly but surely putting together their 30 man squad with six signings to date.<\/p>\n
