NRL superstar Bradman Best and his partner Kayla Fenech are celebrating the birth of their first child.

Best, 24, is a gun centre for the Newcastle Knights while his older partner Fenech, 29, is the daughter of boxing great Jeff Fenech.

The baby was expected next month but the couple have revealed on social media that Kaliyah Rose Best decided to greet the world way ahead of schedule.

Although Kaliyah Rose was born on December 4, the couple only shared pics of their bundle of joy a week-and-a-half later.

“Kaliyah Rose Best 4.12.25. We love you baby girl 🩷,” Fenech said while sharing some gorgeous pics.

The following day, Kayla added two more pics, revealing that Kaliyah Rose already has a splendid mop of dark hair.

The news was quickly celebrated by a host of NRL superstars, including Best’s teammates Kalyn Ponga and Tyson Gamble, as well Panthers players Brian To’o and Nathan Cleary.

“Congrats you two let’s oge 🤍🤍,” Ponga said

Cronulla Sharks halfback Nicho Hynes, Sydney Rabbitohs back-rower Tallis Duncan and Eels flyer Josh Addo-Carr were some of the other big names to join the celebrations.

As for Jeff Fenech, he is now a grandfather, despite his best efforts to keep his daughter away from NRL players.

“I‘d always warned my girls about going out with league players,’ the former champ said when Best and Kayla became an item.

“So when she rang and told me, I went off the deep end. I gave her a roasting.

“She kept trying to say, ‘Dad, he’s a lovely guy’ …

“Bradman knew I was angry, but he told Kayla, ‘I’ll prove your dad wrong’ … and he has.”

Best has played over 100 games for the Knights since 2019 and represented New South Wales in 2023 and 2024.

This season was a nightmare, however, with the Knights finishing dead last and coach Adam O’Brien getting the boot two games before the season ended.

In the final game of the year, the Knights conceded a humiliating 66 points after recording the worst attacking record of any team in the league in 2025.

Former Newcastle halfback Justin Holbrook has taken over the coaching reigns at Newcastle, returning to the hot seat after he was sacked by the Titans less than three years ago.
