Cycling BC, in partnership with the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific (CSI Pacific), is pleased to announce that the eligibility criteria for the 2026\/2027 High Performance Targeted Athlete Program are now available, and applications are open until January 20, 2026.<\/p>\n
Through a coordinated approach, this program is a key part of the Canadian cycling development pathway and is designed to identify, support, and develop athletes and coaches who are committed to progressing toward national and international performance levels.<\/p>\n
Who is the Program For?<\/p>\n
The program is open to competitive athletes and their coaches who demonstrate performance potential, commitment to training, and readiness to engage in a structured high-performance environment.<\/p>\n
You may be a good fit for the program if you:<\/p>\n
Are a member in good standing with Cycling BC
\nCompete at a provincial, national, or international level
\nHave a designated coach responsible for your training program
\nAspire to represent Canada at major competitions
\nAre motivated to follow a performance-focused training program
\nAre ready to engage with coaching, sport science, and performance services<\/p>\n
Athletes accepted into the program are divided into four levels based on their current performance status and development needs,<\/p>\n
Canadian Elite (currently carded through Sport Canada\u2019s Athlete Assistance Program)
\nCanadian Development (part of the National team athlete pool, but are not carded or receiving AAP funding)
\nProvincial Development 1 (tracking towards Canadian Development by achieving results at the National level)
\nProvincial Development 2 (emerging competitors at the Provincial or National level)<\/p>\n
Program Benefits & Services<\/p>\n
Depending on the classification level, targeted athletes will receive support and access to a range of benefits and services that can contribute to thousands of dollars in annual savings for athletes, including, but not limited to:<\/p>\n
Performance coaching and support
\nIndividualized training and competition planning
\nAccess to CSI Pacific experts, including:<\/p>\n
Sport science and sport medicine services
\nStrength and conditioning guidance
\nPerformance planning and monitoring<\/p>\n
Athlete education opportunities, including workshops and resources
\nAlignment with the national high-performance pathway<\/p>\n

How to Apply<\/p>\n
Athletes interested in being considered for the 2026 program must review the eligibility criteria and application form & apply by January 20, 2026. Only athletes who meet the eligibility criteria and who have submitted complete applications by the deadline will be considered.<\/p>\n
