Stock futures slipped Tuesday as traders anticipated the release of November’s jobs report. <\/p>\n
Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a> lost 23 points, or 0.1%. S&P 500 futures <\/a>slipped 0.1%, while Nasdaq 100 futures<\/a> dropped 0.2%.<\/p>\n The three benchmark U.S. indexes closed Monday in the red, pressured by losses in key artificial intelligence names. <\/p>\n Broadcom<\/a> lost 5.6% during Monday’s session, while software company ServiceNow<\/a> sank 11.5% and Oracle<\/a> fell 2.7%. Microsoft<\/a> shares also ended the session lower as investors continued to take profits from high-flying AI trades and move into other areas of the market, including health care and utilities. The U.S. stock market is still heading for a winning year with gains across each of the eleven S&P 500 sectors.<\/p>\n “I think for the next four, five, six months, there is some runway here when you look at the real economy corners of the market,” Chris Verrone, head of technical and macro research at Strategas, said Monday on CNBC’s “Closing Bell.” <\/p>\n “The groups that I think are starting to inflect here have shown us that,” he added. “Where have we seen the new high expansion? Industrials, financials, discretionary, materials. There’s a very real economy feel to this.”<\/p>\n
