Cup Australia Champion, Supercar Test Awaits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The winner of next year\u2019s inaugural Mustang Cup Australia will receive a test in a Ford Mustang Gen3 Supercar, courtesy of legendary team Triple Eight Race Engineering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The prize will be given to the winner of the top Dark Horse category, with the test taking place at Queensland Raceway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysportscar.com\/2025\/06\/27\/fords-mustang-cup-set-for-australian-expansion.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Announced in June, Mustang Cup Australia<\/a> is the second regional one-make cup series for the Mustang Dark Horse R, following on from the North American championship which was launched this season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">13-time Supercars teams\u2019 champion Triple Eight made waves in Australian motorsport earlier this year, when it announced it would switch from Chevrolet to Ford machinery from 2026, becoming the latter\u2019s homologation team.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe introduction of the Mustang Cup to Australia is very exciting,\u201d said Triple Eight Team Principal Jamie Whincup.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMore opportunities for younger drivers is a good thing for motorsport in this country, and there\u2019s no doubt that it has the potential to unlock the next star of our sport.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysportscar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Ampol-Racing-Ford-Mustang.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" Eight Supercar with the champion team.\u00a0It really is the ultimate prize.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 2026 Mustang Cup Australia season begins at Phillip Island on 27th to 29th
