Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi has greeted eager onlookers at Perth<\/a> Airport ahead of his RAC Arena show on Thursday night as fans lined up for a photo with the talent.<\/p>\n

Capaldi\u2019s return to Australia follows his two-year absence from live performances, with local fans excited to see the star grace the stage after his 2023 appearances Down Under were cancelled.<\/p>\n

Jasmine Whitehead, 25, has been a fan of the Survive singer since 2020 and awaited his Tuesday arrival following the Brit\u2019s flight from Adelaide.<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw him for the first time at Falls Festival back then. I also had tickets for his 2023 tour that got cancelled,\u201d she told PerthNow.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, I couldn\u2019t afford to go see him this time around so I am not going to the show tonight but I am very grateful to have met him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The St James resident was impressed by the Capaldi\u2019s easygoing demeanour and expected him to have travelled with a larger entourage.<\/p>\n

\u201cSurprisingly he didn\u2019t have any security with him or anything,\u201d she said, adding \u201che was very sweet and in a good mood for just coming off a four-hour flight\u201d.<\/p>\n

The unflappable star made no attempt to arrive in Cognito or dodge onlookers, seen walking casually through the arrival gate in a black hoodie, brown shorts and black sneakers.<\/p>\n

Ms Whitehead said Capaldi stopped to greet awaiting fans like herself, posing for photos and signing merch.<\/p>\n

However, Ms Whitehead said she took her interaction with the Grammy nominee a step further.<\/p>\n

\u201cI brought him a little gift bag with some Aussie snacks, which he said thank you for,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The enamoured fan\u2019s gift bag included local confectionery favourites Tim Tams and Red Frogs, as well as a jar of the nation\u2019s salty delicacy Vegemite.<\/p>\n

Ms Whitehead has made a hobby out of tracking famous figures when they come to town, meeting the likes of music stars Tate Macrae, Post Malone and Gracie Abrams in recent times.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Capaldi tagged Perth on social media upon arrival as he enjoyed a car ride through the city.<\/p>\n

His Australian come back tour was announced in July, delivered in the affable singer\u2019s signature style.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy name\u2019s Lewis Capaldi and I\u2019m f**king back, baby,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The self-deprecating star has historically proven he doesn\u2019t take himself too seriously, but in 2023 was forced to address mental health concerns while on stage at Glastonbury as symptoms of his Tourette\u2019s Syndrome overcame him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I\u2019ll be taking another wee break over the next couple of weeks,\u201d he told fans at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo you probably won\u2019t see much of me for the rest of year, maybe even. But when I do come back and when I do see you, I hope you\u2019re still up for watching us.\u201d<\/p>\n
