Credit: Reddit, @damosyzygy<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cShould be on the Tim Tams since they cost more here than in the UK,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">However, it\u2019s now been revealed the tags are part of a campaign by \u201cprogressive\u201d Australian activist group GetUp!, which have distributed the free tags as part of its Stop Price Gouging program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cEveryday people are paying $10 for eggs, $5 for bread, $8 for a small bar of chocolate \u2013 with some staples jumping 30\u201350% in just a few years&#8230;supermarket giants are making eye-watering profits \u2013 while we struggle to afford the basics,\u201d the GetUp website says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cThese record profits aren\u2019t going to the farmers who grow our food or the workers who stock the shelves. They\u2019re lining the pockets of corporate executives \u2014 like Woolies\u2019 former CEO who pocketed a $24 million payout. For an average Woolies worker, that would take hundreds of years of shifts to earn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cIt\u2019s not just sky-high prices.
