(ABC News: Crystalyn Brown)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">She said she had to &#8220;work pretty hard&#8221; and be &#8220;very thorough&#8221; to avoid making mistakes, and commended other high-achievers in her cohort who had supported her along the way.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;I don&#8217;t think I would be there today without those people in my life actually,&#8221; Ms Wei explained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;A lot of them are really inspiring and they have a lot of unique interests and that, in turn, pushes me to want to work harder and do cool things just like them as well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Her study tip: go to bed early, and have fun.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"a teenage girl being kissed on the cheek by her mum and brother\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/4c8f0f3d5ff24a1955ca5e9568b73108\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Saathvika Maturu also got an ATAR of 99.95, (ABC News: Crystalyn Brown)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">For Saathvika Maturu, who also got an ATAR of 99.95, it was a &#8220;surreal experience&#8221;, as she said she had not been expecting such a high mark.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The Brisbane Girls Grammar student studied double maths, English, chemistry, economics and Latin.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">She said she was really proud and grateful for the support from her teachers along the way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;I did well, but &#8230; I thought I might not get it,&#8221; Ms Maturu explained.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was really surprising.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The aspiring medicine student said she was still weighing up her options about where to go for university, but hoped to stay in Queensland.<\/p>\n<p>Early entry helps to reduce results day stress<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">On the Sunshine Coast, Baringa State Secondary College school principal Matt Samson said it was an especially exciting day as it was new school&#8217;s first full cohort of graduating students.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2025-12-17\/nsw-university-pathways-in-spotlight-amid-atar-result-release\/106130518\" data-component=\"FullBleedLink\" class=\"RelatedCard_link__rsgR9 FullBleedLink_root__lTw_U interactive_focusContext__yRhc_ interactive_defaults__AKxUU FullBleedLink_showVisited__g3Xvz\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Student \u2018devastated\u2019 by ATAR outcome now on path to dream job<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP RelatedCard_synopsis__cFwMW Typography_sizeMobile14__u7TGe Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">A south-west Sydney graduate who received disappointing final exam results is now pursuing a career in social work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;We know they worked really hard, but we&#8217;re looking forward to now seeing the rewards, I guess, of all of that hard work,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Mr Samson said many of the cohort had already &#8220;sorted&#8221; their pathways, which included early entry offers to university.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">He agreed this helped to reduce the overall stress of results day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;They still want to know their ATAR result because they have worked really hard and that&#8217;s sort of &#8230; going to give credibility to all of the hard work that they&#8217;ve done,&#8221; Mr Samson said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;But they they feel more relaxed because they already know they have an offer going to the university that they want to go.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">He said the state&#8217;s education department also had a good program in place for students who were not sure of their next steps.<\/p>\n<p>Next steps?<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">ATAR results were released online at midday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">QTAC&#8217;s Mr Veraa encouraged graduates who did not get the ATAR they wanted not to worry, saying there were options, and pathways into university or TAFE, for everyone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">He said anyone who was in doubt about next steps should call QTAC to talk through their personal situation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Queensland Education Department data\u00a0showed school\u00a0attendance\u00a0had\u00a0risen this year to\u00a0the highest since 2021, at 87.3 per cent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;Queensland graduates should be incredibly proud of their achievements, and I want to thank all the parents, teachers,\u00a0principals\u00a0and school staff who\u00a0have\u00a0supported them along the way,&#8221;
