The sound installation, which will remain on view through July 19th, is part of a larger Art Of Noise exhibition<\/a> that opens on February 13th. The listening room is the brainchild of Brooklyn-based artist and audio engineer Devon Turnbull, AKA OJAS. Over the course of his career, Turnbull has also created sound installations for Public Records, Lisson Gallery<\/a>, Nine Orchard Hotel and others. <\/p>\n Titled HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 3, the space features custom-built speaker sculptures, seating by USM Modular Furniture and textiles by Kvadrat. Daily live programming runs from 1 to 4 PM, and is led by Turnbull and an alternating group of music collectors, archivists, audiophiles and musicians. On December 20th, Daniel Lopatin (AKA Oneohtrix Point Never<\/a>) will preview his Marty Supreme soundtrack<\/a> in the room at 1 PM. <\/p>\n Turnbull has also curated a rotating series of playlists for the installation. He’ll highlight classical music on Mondays, ambient on Wednesdays, jazz on Fridays, and a genre mix on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. <\/p>\n “Created as a ‘shrine to music,’ this listening room series invites visitors to experience music in a space designed to slow down and reflect, bringing back the joy of experiencing and sharing music together,” Turnbull said. “My intention is to return to the kind of immersive listening we experienced when we were young, free from outside distractions.”<\/p>\n
