Selena Gomez<\/a> got extra candid with her followers recently, addressing blunt comments about both her speaking voice and her upper lip.<\/p>\n

In a clip from a recent Instagram livestream that\u2019s been circulating on X<\/a>, the Rare Beauty founder responded to one follower\u2019s question about the way her voice sounds. \u201cI\u2019ve gotten this question a few times, the voice thing,\u201d she began.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes things happen,\u201d she continued, cutting herself off from giving a more detailed explanation. \u201cI get weird. My throat kind of swells inside sometimes. That\u2019s all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also in the video, Gomez tells fans: \u201cI\u2019m glad y\u2019all are being real with me on the live, I appreciate it, for real.\u201d<\/p>\n

That wasn\u2019t the only personal question the singer\/actress answered recently, though. In a video<\/a> posted to her Story, a chuckling Gomez said, \u201cSomeone made me laugh, because they asked me, \u2018How do you, like, shave your mustache?’\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI totally get it,\u201d she added. \u201cI actually have melasma, you guys \u2026 It\u2019s from the sun. You all have to obviously wear sunscreen and be careful \u2026 but it\u2019s actually not [a mustache]. It\u2019s my melasma. I take care of and treat it, but yeah, it\u2019s there. That\u2019s me.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Cleveland Clinic<\/a>, melasma is a common skin disorder that typically affects a person\u2019s \u201ccheeks, nose, chin, above the upper lip and the forehead,\u201d leaving discoloration that can lighten and darken depending on the season. The main causes are sun exposure and hormonal fluctuations.<\/p>\n

Gomez is known for getting real with her fans, with the star opening up about everything from her struggles with lupus to mental health and SIBO. The latter \u2014 also known as small intestinal bacterial overgrowth \u2014 is the result of an increase in bacteria <\/a>in the small intestine that causes digestive issues.<\/p>\n

The star\u2019s frankness with fans this week comes as she\u2019s closing out an exciting year. In addition to marrying producer<\/a> Benny Blanco in September, she reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200<\/a> with her joint album with her now-husband, I Said I Love You First. Earlier this month, she scored her fourth Golden Globe<\/a> nomination in a row for her performance in Hulu\u2019s Only Murders in the Building.<\/p>\n
