The Tasmania Devils<\/a> have named their VFL squad for 2026, with the Apple Isle outfit set to feature at the state league level ahead of its AFL<\/a> expansion in the coming years.<\/p>\n

The Devils have already managed to secure a handful of headline acquisitions, with ex-Sydney pair Robbie Fox<\/a> and Caleb Mitchell<\/a>, former Essendon forward Jye Menzie<\/a> and cut North Melbourne youngster Geordie Payne<\/a> heading south straight out of the AFL<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The side has also added former AFL-listed talent in Hugh Dixon<\/a>, Cameron Owen<\/a> and Sam Siggins<\/a>, as well as highly-rated local youngsters Brandon Leary, Lucas Wooton, Jack Miller, Oliver Depaoli-Kubank and Jack Callinan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Callinan arrives from SANFL outfit Central District, with fellow state league names in Jed Hagan<\/a> (East Fremantle) and Nick Williams (Southport) also joining Tasmania as highly-rated and experienced assets.<\/p>\n

The Devils have added to their promising recruitment drive with the signature of Sandringham Dragons<\/a> and Vic Metro 2025 AFL Draft<\/a> prospect Rory Wright, who has been unveiled as a new signing for 2026 with the announcement of the club’s squad.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

Wright was among the handful of prospects who were unfortunate not to be selected at last month’s talent intake, having enjoyed a strong year across multiple levels as a midfield-defender hybrid.<\/p>\n

The teenager now joins a promising young cohort of talent that will feature under coach Jeromey Weberley, who will lead the Devils into their first VFL campaign.<\/p>\n

“We have been happy with the quality and commitment of all the athletes that have put themselves forward to be a part of Tasmania Football Club’s inaugural VFL squad,” Webberley said in a statement.<\/p>\n

“The process of refining the squad has been competitive which is a credit to all involved.<\/p>\n

“We are looking forward to resuming training after a short break over Christmas and cannot wait to run out for the start of the season in the coming months.”<\/p>\n

The fixture for the 2026 VFL season is yet to be confirmed.\u00a0<\/p>\n
