The first film in the live-action “X-Men” franchise premiered back in 2000. It featured established stars like Patrick Stewart and Halle Berry, but one actor appeared to stand above the rest for his portrayal of a classic comic-book character.<\/p>\n
Hugh Jackman’s take on Wolverine has become the definitive version of the character for many fans, as they’ve followed him in the role for more than two decades. Jackman has played Wolverine in team-up films, stand-alone movies and even 2024’s “Deadpool and Wolverine,” which debuted the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.<\/p>\n
Jackman has found time to engage in other career pursuits over the years, but he’s always found time to play the iconic superhero. Despite turning 57 a few months ago, Jackman recently revealed that he thinks he still has time to make more appearances as Wolverine.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on ABC’s “The View,” host Sunny Hostin referenced Jackman’s comments about potentially reprising the role.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow you recently said that it doesn\u2019t feel like the end for you when it comes to the character,” Hostin said. \u201cIs that a clue that you\u2019re gonna be in ‘Avengers: Doomsday?'”<\/p>\n
Jackman didn’t give a direct answer, but he said his recent comments weren’t a clue. He did pantomime with his hands over his face, saying \u201cWatch my face. Try to work this out. No.\u201d<\/p>\n
The actor has also said that his (for now) final appearance in “Deadpool & Wolverine” just “doesn\u2019t\u201d feel like it’s the end for Logan, even after jumping into an entirely new film and comic universe.<\/p>\n
“For five years, I was like, ‘I’m done.’ And Ryan Reynolds<\/a> would ring me a lot, like ‘Come on!’,” Jackman said, referencing his co-star in the “Deadpool” film. \u201cAnd then I rang him one day and said, ‘I’m in.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd so I go with this \u2014 and that’s what my gut says \u2014\u00a0it’s not done,” Jackman said. “But that’s just me! Marvel might have different ideas.\u201d Some have speculated that he and Reynolds could reprise their roles in “Doomsday,” a sweeping epic that is set to include many actors from Marvel’s past, present and future.<\/p>\n Several Other X-Men Stars Are Returning<\/p>\n Many of the original X-Men cast have been confirmed for “Doomsday,” including Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier\/Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler) and James Marsden (Cyclops).<\/p>\n Jackman’s run with the Wolverine character was originally meant to end with the dark and introspective film “Logan” in 2017.
