HUNTINGTON, W.Va. \u2013 Marshall Women’s Basketball (10-3, 1-0 SBC) hosts JMU (9-4, 1-0 SBC) Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Cam Henderson Center.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Saturday will be a litmus test for the Herd, as the Dukes enter Saturday as the league’s defending regular season champions and hold a 21-game conference regular season winning streak.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tHead Coach Juli Fulks<\/a> is in year two leading Marshall’s Women’s Basketball program. Fulks came to the Herd with a prestigious 400 wins while leading Transylvania to the 2022-23 DIII National Championship.\u00a0
\n\tFulks and the Herd set a program record with four postseason wins in its run during the 2025 Sun Belt Women’s Basketball Championship.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\n\tSenior Timaya Lewis-Eutsey<\/a> scored a career-high 31 points in Marshall’s first conference victory Wednesday. The 31 points were the most by a Herd player since Aislynn Hayes<\/a> scored the same amount in an overtime win in November 2024.\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tThe Herd is scoring 24.9 points per contest off turnovers this season. In Wednesday’s 13-point victory, Marshall notched 13 points off of App State turnovers.
\n\tSenior Meredith Maier<\/a> will return to wearing number 23 Saturday after dawning the number 67 for Education Day. Maier notably led the Herd with a then-career-high 20 points when the two sides met in the 2024 SBC Tournament Championship.\u00a0

ABOUT THE DUKES<\/p>\n


\n\tJMU enters Saturday with a 9-4 record, having won its conference opener at Coastal Carolina Wednesday. The Dukes’ last regular season conference loss was Feb. 24, 2024 at App State.
\n\tPreseason SBC Player of the Year Peyton McDaniel leads the league with 18.4 PPG. Fellow senior Ashanti Barnes follows closely behind with 14.2 PPG (8th in SBC) while leading the league with 12.4 boards per contest.
\n\tJMU leads the all-time series, 10-4 including taking both of last season’s contests. <\/p>\n
